I keep seeing quick flashes in the sky today. This is from this morning. It is so quick it is hard to pick up. It is like I see this white dot flash in the sky but when i look to the area it is already gone. May have something to do with the full moon as this is the largest full moon of the year. It is actually a holiday in China and Taiwan. Moon cake for everyone. Yesterday when I left the office we have a cop stopping traffic so we could cross the street. Well I told him be careful out there as there is a full moon. He seemed to freak out and said wow I didnt know there was a full moon tonight as he was looking at the sky. He then said thank god I dont have to work tonight.

It is very easy to believe that you exist in a hostile environment where you always have to work hard in order to ensure your safety and survival; and if the illusion were real that would indeed be the case. The god you think created this challenging universe no more exists than the universe itself. That god is a figment of your collective imaginations, invented by you to try and make sense of the insanely hostile environment in which you seem to have your existence.

But God, your Father, created you from the infinite Love that is all that exists, making you an eternal, perfect, and essential part of it. There is no other way that He could or would have created you. You are eternal, loving thoughts in the Mind of God, where everything you could ever need or desire is instantly present within you. There is no pain, suffering, or betrayal; they do not exist. Your human body and the life you are experiencing within it is an illusion that you made for your own amusement. Initially it gave you pleasure and captivated you, so you expanded it — “More is better!” — and as it grew it started to become dark and threatening, and you became lost within it, or so it seems.

It is only a dream, a collective one, that you all experience differently, even though its physical manifestation is apparently the same for each of you. And you are going to awaken because dreams are only momentary interruptions to consciousness, even though they often seem to last for long periods of time. Most of you have experienced falling asleep, having an intense and busy dream, and then awakened to find that you had only been asleep for a very short time. So it is with the illusion. When you awaken you will be amazed at how brief has been your period of sleep. Time is a major part of the illusion, making it seem very real, and making it appear that you are waiting for the moment of awakening to occur. This is extremely difficult for you to understand as you continue to maintain the illusion and experience the sensations it provides.

So focus on the knowledge that your Father’s Love for you is greater by far than anything you can conceive of, and that His Will for you is eternal joy. That being the case, nothing can ever harm you because it is not His Will that you be harmed, and only what He wills is real. Deep within you that knowledge is eternally present and can never be lost. You can choose not to be aware of it as you stumble along in the illusion, but when you seek it out you will find it and recognize it. It is your sense of hope, your desire to be known and loved, and this can only be satisfied by God. It is there because He placed it there at the moment of apparent separation, and you can never be without it until you awaken and experience eternally that hope and desire fulfilled.

It is your destiny and your Home, it is where you have your eternal ecstatic existence, and it is impossible for you not to awaken into the bliss-filled awareness of this, which is God’s and your infinite divine Reality.

Encourage your hope, intend that your deepest desires be honored, and remind yourselves constantly that nothing else but God’s Will, which is also truly yours, is possible, and know that this is so. -With so very much love, Saul

Oh man I did something disgusting at 4 in the morning. Well it definetely was not intentional. I used a blue plastic cup for my ash tray last night. well I wake up at 4 and feel something in my mouth. I take it out and to my disgust it was an ash and some tobacco from my cigarette. I must have unconsciously drank from that cup. I guess you call it sleep drinking. Now here is the really bad part. When I noticed this I immediately wanted a drink of water to wash this out. Yes you guessed right I drank from the cup with the black water and more ashes. OMG I was like Doghouse!!!! What!!!! I think i got some major ASS today as I am so tired. I also feel disoriented and have a bit of joint pain along with stomache discomfort. No problema though it shall pass.
Admiral jury duty is like a day off from work. Bring the lap top. When you get called for a case ask the judge hey your honor did you know 911 was an inside job? DISMISSED AND INSTUTUTIONALIZE THIS MAN.

Gunner: I am a substitute teacher and teach K-Garten thru 6th grade. I prefer grades 1 thru 4 though. Gunner, many of these children carry great light. Earth is attracting such shining souls. They share such intense light with others. Interestingly enough, some seem sound asleep….I always marvel at many of the parents, who “SEEM” clueless to who their children really are….I suppose these little ones come to serve and awaken their parents. I go into this environment with a strong intent to reach out and serve their souls…I am truly happiest when I am with these souls. They are never judgemental. I get a real kick out of them when they comment on my tattoos. They especially like my small Templar Jerusalem Cross. I wear sacred symbols on my arms, and you see their eyes light up! Its a priviledge to spend my day with these lighted beings!

One more thing Laurinda, a lot of parents and people in general are clue less to who they are but I see everyday more and more people waking up YES!!!! Once I was lost and now I am found.

Gunner: I enjoy the class clown, as much as the students do usually!!! The class bully I “scan”, then show kindness. I try to give them a little extra TLC…they are usually hurting inside…wounded in some way…maybe treated like that at home, etc. I do have to re-enforce that cruel behaviors are not tolerated. If they are resistent, I just send them to the office, and let THEM deal with it. Keep in mind, that I am a sub, and in a classroom for a day or so, then moving on to the next job. I do not always have a clear picture of an ongoing bully situation, so I try to show kindness and understanding….I pump the classroom full of light…as is my great pleasure to do so… Thank you for your kind words Gunner. Admiral, I wont keep my fingers crossed on Oct.13. I figure the announcements have got to come first to minimize the panic and chaos of us all. BTW jury duty at 1, not bad. Here you have to go 830 to 430 but the second day I skipped out at 10. They may put you on a death penalty case as I hear Texas loves to execute their prisoners. In Virginia they have some Lady who is scheduled for execution and she seems to be wildly retarded. Go figure. Let her live her days out. I feel the death penalty is easier as jail is in no way a picnic. I have been in a minimum security jail for 2 weeks and it sucked so bad. Dont believe what you read on how good they have it in jail. Just to do basic hygeine is such a pain in the ass. No No No I know what you are thinking and dont even go there haha. Jury Duty was a breeze…got there early parked under a shaded tree, opened all the windows and sun roof smoked a cig and fed the Wal-Mart birds my french fries, wow never seen so many birds fly’n around me, then about 12:45 I went into the building and at 12:55 we went into the courtroom and was dismissed at 1:10…how about that for a day of Jury Duty…Yeah, I’m home now and back with he GM Massives…oh, it was free parking there and we got paid $6 for our gas…but that will be mailed to us. The judge also said with their new system, we most likely won’t get a jury summons for another three years…but I won’t be around for that because I will have ascended by then

51 made me nearly choke on my tea this morning when I was catching up on the posts! Do what we do and invest in an ashtray!!

The last time I did that was about 15 years ago (I can still taste it even now!) when I used to put them out in an empty beer can. Only once did I drink the wrong can and I never repeated that again – YUK!!

Stick my buddy once did the same thing although he was set up. We used to party in my attic as teens and one guy fell asleep. Well oots (his nickname) took his bottle of beer emptied it and pissed in it. When Bimbo (another nickname) woke up oots told him to drink his beer. Well, he took a gulp and he knew right away and with a look of disgust he whipped the bottle and hit oots right in his chest. I actually felt bad for the guy and should have said something but I was young and stupid, but I would never drink from an empty found in the bathroom. Still cracking up. And now the Admiral loves jury duty. Oh what a great friday and Matthew, I guess we all had our disgusting experiences in life but isnt it great that we could all laugh about it now. Matt I just keep forgetting to buy one but wont forget today.
i got some more ASS today in the form of joint pain. My left thumb is so bad I could not even grip my cup of water this morning. Hey maybe that is a good thing in case I would have grabbed the blue cup again. My right knee is hurting and it is difficult to walk. Also my right wrist has pain. It was a lot worse this morning but nw becoming bearable. Oh God just had to read the 3 posts again 73,79,81 and I cant stop laughing. The laughter is making my ASS pains go away. Time for a smoke, hint of the day, dont drink from cans left in the bathroom.

The Journey & Map of the Soul………..?
The spirit is the energy of light and within this light there is a unique pattern called the soul, the soul carries within it an electromagnetic holographic images of past experiences or other incarnations, but also within this pattern of energy there is an electronic invisible energy map which shows the outline of the soul’s/spirit journey, the possibilities and probabilities of its present incarnation in a particular vehicle. Through the soul’s/spirits own collective energy consciousness or the connection to the higher universal source of the creator, it retains and send out energy signals a bit like radio waves or frequency links and it is these links that trigger off frequency waves at certain stages of physical growth of the human psyche. It is through these links of energy frequencies that causes cells to grow and renew themselves and can alter the sequence in its molecule substance, it can also alter the genetic sequence of the genome code through altering the proteins that the DNA needs to keep it active. Like all duality in life the life energy of this universal consciousness can also alter the cell communication system and bring about a new communication system when cells refuse to die and split and begin their own communication system bringing about disease what we know as Cancer.
This map is linked electronically and magnetically to the brain and all other organs especially to the DNA sequence, each of these areas have a coded pattern or matrix which was created at birth and it is within these coded sequences of energy that bodily changes can occur. Those who seek to attain their own enlightenment and spiritual awareness can do so with years of dedication in the techniques of meditation this process can also alter the pattern of the neurons of the brain allowing access to areas that lie dormant, and when activated or ignited through meditation it gives the person a higher intuitive mind as the higher mind of universal consciousness projects itself through the areas which was previously closed or unused. There is a passage of energy that is invisible to the naked eye which travels from the base of the neck or stem of the brain and travels between the right and left brain hemispheres and projects itself outward through the third eye or 6th chakra this passage is called the condovular. This energy that travels through the condovular passage carries within it knowledge of universal creation and when activated can bring tremendous enlightenment and can shed much light on how the source of the intelligent mind of the universe works through creation.
I hope in time to come this will be activated on a much bigger scale than the few who have developed it at present as mankind evolves its spiritual awareness it will understand more of universal creation and the intelligence of the universal mind. The map is designed in its ethereal energy sequence as a journey so that the soul/spirit may experience the creators existence, for this to happen it must have a vehicle of matter so it can project itself through it. The electronic map communicates itself from a higher source of intelligence consciousness and it is through this communication link that great changes can occur in the individuals life, as it is all part of the unique journey that was created for a particular soul/spirit energy consciousness. There is always a specific reason behind all journeys no matter what they contain and nothing is by chance unless the mind of the self/ego chooses to over shadow the real journey and create thrir own experiences through wants and desires. When this happens the individual will always experience what it has created whether in a negative or positive structure.
The journey and the map of the journey are always carefully constructed for the soul to carry, some of the journey can be from past karmic effects, but the soul always knows which other souls will be incorporated into its journey to share with it similar experiences, this is shown as family, friends and other people who play a large part in the journey. Many times the soul does not always experience what it needs to experience, this is due to the many layers of energy that the individual self puts between the soul and its ego, these can be thoughts, emotions, beliefs, cultural differences and habitual patterns passed down from generations all these put a barrier between the self and the soul/spirit. Mankind spends years adding these layers to itself, then when it wants enlightenment and spiritual awareness it takes years to break down the layers so it may reach the light of the soul/spirit. But once the connection of unity between soul/spirit and self is realized so much more can be obtained in knowledge and wisdom, then one can recognize the map and its journey and have the sense of purpose that you really are going somewhere and have the realization of your purpose in life. The electronic energy map that controls the various frequencies waves that pulses through the subtle body and into the physical body is what gives life and if everybody understood the creation of this journey and the creation of the map that accomplices it, so many mistakes would not be made and so much pain would not be felt and we could live more in harmony, but until people understand the creation of the human species and for the purpose of its evolution then so many will live in ignorance of the real essence of their being. Until people understand why they are in this world and what the role is they have come to play the reality will stay the illusion until their inner eyes have been opened to the true reality of universal consciousness and the soul/spirit that is within them and that is within all life, we are all but gossamer threads all joined up into one gigantic pattern or matrix within the source of universal creation.

The Evolution of the Universal Consciousness…….?
The universal space is inhabited by living self-aware energies, called souls, spirits, or consciousnesses. “Lumps” of some of them are small, some bigger, while others are large. But there is also the largest Consciousness that occupies the entire boundless universal space — this is God-the-Father, Who is also called the Creator, Jehovah, Savaof, Allah, Iswara, Tao, Primordial Consciousness, Adibuddha, etc.
Consciousnesses of different level of evolutionary advancement abide in different layers of multidimensional space, which are called eons in Greek, lokas — in Sanskrit, etc. These layers range by the level of their subtlety-coarseness, similar to the radio waves of different frequencies: waves of different frequency ranges do not interfere, although they exist within the same space.
Layers of multidimensional space have borders, which resemble a partition plane between transparent oil and water poured in the same glass vessel. This is how the borders between some eons really look like.
In the deepest layer of the multidimensional universal Ocean of the Absolute resides the Unified Consciousness of the Creator; this is the layer of the subtlest Consciousness. At the opposite end of the subtlety-coarseness scale there are layers of hell, inhabited by devils and demons — the coarsest souls; this is hell.
Thus, there are numerous layers-eons between the two ends of this scale. Throughout their individual evolution units of consciousness (souls) move from one layer to another in both directions, finding their abode either in hellish eons, or paradisiacal, or intermediate ones. But we have to strive to get into the subtlest eon, which is called the Abode of the Creator and located “deeper”, than paradise.
Life of God consists in His Evolution, i.e. continuation of the positive development of His Universal Organism.
This is the reason why He creates material worlds in various parts of the universe and then settles tiny particles of His energy into organic bodies on planets, which are suitable at the particular time for the existence of the latter. These particles should grow and merge back into Him and enrich Him in the end. Their growth starts on the crystalline lattices of minerals, continues in the bodies of plants, animals, and then those of humans.
Each of us has come through multitude of incarnations in his personal evolution — before getting in his current human body. And our task for now is to make maximum efforts in order to become worthy of Mergence with the Creator in His Abode.
It is clear to us now how we should love God, isn’t it?
We have to do everything we can to attain Divinity ourselves and to merge into Him, and also to help other people in doing this.
We advance towards Divinity by means of:
— Cultivation of love for all living beings and for the Creator,
— Refinement of ourselves as consciousness so that we can move into more subtle eons — away from hell and closer to the Abode of the Creator.
— Intellectual self-perfection: accumulation of knowledge about the most important, training of the thinking abilities, intellectual creativity etc.,
— Increasing the power of our refined consciousness, which is directly proportional to the size of its “lump”.
An individual consciousness has the ability to increase quantitatively (to grow). It grows in the course of incarnations as it enters physical bodies of increasing size. But at the human stages of the evolution of an individual soul this growth is accelerated if a person leads an intense life in any area: from physical labor, to intellectual work, to healing, etc. But there are also special (esoteric) methods of acceleration of the quantitative growth of consciousness that consist in various types of meditative training, which are especially effective if conducted in combination with athletic exercises and on special “power places”.
One must remember that an increase of the size and power of a coarse consciousness will make a devil out of a person and will determine a quite “stable” life in hell for him. It is only growth of a refined consciousness that has a real value.

Steffie #96: Thanks for your kind words! I remember a particular boy who had a twinkle that wouldn’t quit, a bit hard to deal with sometimes, but an angel in my opinion. One day I was subbing at school, and his look, mannerisims, and behavior was vastly different…I asked him if he was on medication, and he said yes. There he stood all dumbed-down, very manageable, etc….That really made me sad, but he was actually able to get school work done. WTF, but at what cost to him??? I think that you are entirely correct in your assessment of my role in school—someone who gives a little love and light-filled boost to these young ones…perhaps at the exact moment it is needed–and many times I am able to read this in their eyes…and I am grateful to earn another day here in service to the ONE!

Admiral #101: Thanks for your kind words. I am finding that so far this year, I will only be able to work at school on a more limited basis. I get pretty burned out by the end of the school year, and last year I was fried by the second week of March. I find that this year, I am even more sensitive to the surrounding energies in these environments! So I will continue to show up as Spirit directs…and WHERE Spirit directs…

What is the difference is between Planetary and Cosmic Ascension?

Planetary ascension is a raise in frequency where all chakras within the body have been cleared and it is time to bring in chakra 8 through 12.

This will complete the Planetary ascension as many have worked on the Planetary Ascension in previous lifetimes. This is of course just the basics as much of what is needed is described in the books of Dr. Joshua David Stone and other teachings.

Most people have completed what is needed in those previous lifetimes and all we do now is remember them and complete the Planetary ascension.

Most people at this time work on both, but can only reach a certain level towards Cosmic ascension as they have not completed the Planetary Ascension.

Planetary ascension does not take you in any other dimension than where you are right now, here on earth in the 3rd dimension.

Cosmic ascension is a complete transformation of the physical body into a light body.

We all know the story of Jesus and how he became that light body.

He had the assistance of many as they supported him to change the physical body into a light body after they took him of the cross.

This time we don’t need to go through such drastic measures like the death he went through.

Cosmic Ascension has been done throughout the ages by some and at this time has become available for the many.

This is sort of a recollection as I go through all the changes I know have happened to myself.

After the 12 chakras are within the body, there is a change that happens and more chakras will open above 12. Within the physical body the chakras are changing to what is called elektrons.

This is done by calling in the crystals that are missing within each chakra.

The greatest story I have about this is someone who had their chakras changed into elektrons and just forgot about it, but after a couple of months she met one of her friends and that friend told her. “ I know you are not dead, but I cannot see your chakras anymore.”

The change to electrons is an in-between stage as from there all elektrons (the previous chakras) start to vibrate at the same frequency. This results in a crystalline tube that is very thin in the beginning but becomes wider when you get more and more connected to the higher parts of you.

There is also the axiatonal system. This is an energy line system running through the physical body and energy bodies. Once all lines have been reconnected, it will allow for more higher frequencies to run through the physical body and energy bodies.

Once the crystalline tube is in place we can receive a stronger connection to the other parts like the higher self, the soul, the I Am presence. It also allows for these parts to come closer and start integrating their energies into the physical body.

Once the I Am presence is fully within the physical body we start to notice the difference within consciousness. As the consciousness from the I Am presence is more expanded.

There is lot of in between activity that takes place within the physical body. It is really hard for the physical body to adjust to the higher frequencies and sometimes it feels like you have the flu, with pain all over for several days. Being very tired is also an effect of the adjustment.

The headaches that come with it can only be described as too much to handle sometimes.

The physical brain is not fully active as only small parts are being used by us right now. So the expansion of consciousness cannot be translated by the physical brain as it is right now. It can however be adjusted as we have all that we need already there, it just needs to be activated.

We have three parts that are needed for this and they all seem to work against each other at times. So we need to have them on the same page to be able to activate more of our brain capacity to understand the new information. This is done in many ways and I know I sometimes felt like I did not even have a brain. It felt like it was taken out for repair and some cotton balls were put in its place. It is a light headed feeling, but also a heavy feeling within the head. Thinking is almost impossible and you only do the necessary things like eating, sleeping, just the basics as far as the body needs it.

And this is not just a one-time thing as the brain has to adjust each time we expand our consciousness. Depending upon the person and how hard they work on the expansion, the upgrades last from one day to sometimes a week.

Then there are the clearings. Each time you integrate another part of yourself the body needs to adjust, those parts are cleared and the frequency of the body changes.

There are many parts of you floating around somewhere, energies that you left at other places during previous lifetimes. Depending upon the frequency of the body, these parts can be returned and integrated. Usually these parts will bring with them more information as to what you have learned in previous life times, but they need to be cleared as they also have all the experiences of that life time and we don’t need that, just the information and of course the higher frequencies of these parts that allow us to raise the frequency of our physical and energy bodies to a new level.

This usually has the same type of physical symptoms especially when you start the process. Flu type symptoms, headaches and being tired.

The process that happens within the physical body and energy bodies is something that can take many lifetimes or as we now move toward the end of this cycle, we can do it now in one life time.

It is however not something that can be done for you; it requires dedication and commitment to the process.

In previous time the ones that would study Cosmic Ascension would attend the mystery schools and work on this process 24 hours a day for many lifetimes

It was not handed out to them by other beings as so many people think will happen right now.

It took them three days to change the physical body of Jesus into a light body and this was with the assistance of hundreds of Essenes who were supporting and assisting in the activations and clearings of everything needed to change the physical body into light. He was already at the level of oneness with his own source being though.

This means he was connected with everything within our universe and beyond, but also completely connected within himself and every part of his Source Being,

The process of Cosmic Ascension has been there throughout time; the difference is that we have the opportunity to do it in one lifetime instead of many lifetimes.

This also means the process is being changed as we move toward the completion of Cosmic ascension.

Many things that were needed in previous times are not needed now as the earth has changed her frequencies and we are supported by those frequencies. Much of what would take weeks or months to clear can now be cleared in one session. Many activations can be done in one session.

The activations being used in previous times are being adjusted or not needed and new activations are being added to move us along as fast as possible.

This has never been done before and all the old teachings are being thrown out as we move in uncharted territory and we start writing our own manual for Cosmic ascension.

What I have described here is the basic outline of what is needed, as I move further it seems like there is no end to what is needed to change the body into crystalline and from there into diamond and beyond.

The process entails way more than just axiatonal lines, activating the crystalline tube within and adjusting the brain. As the process is constantly adjusted it is hard to say exactly what else is needed at this time.

All I know is that it is an amazing journey and an opportunity that only comes once in a lifetime.

Mother Earth and her ascension path.

The earth is changing as we all know and she is on the path of Cosmic Ascension just like some of us are right now.

This means she is going through many of the activations and clearings that we go through toward Cosmic Ascension.

She is clearing and activating many parts of herself as she is also bringing in her spiritual parts.

I have asked Mother Earth what her needs are at this time so here is her message.

I am the Earth and we are one as always.

As I am going through the many changes, there are activations needed within me that require your assistance.

I have been here to support you and work with you and my support will be there as always.

The support was always done through many of the crystalline grids that are running through me at this time. As I move further there is a change that needs to be made in the way I support you.

These crystalline grids are not of my energies and as I move toward further clearing these grids will be transmuted and disappear. A new grid will be placed after I complete my process of ascension. But at this time I cannot hold these energies within me.

My support will be through your connection within the earth crystal, or core crystal as this place has already been transformed and has merged with all my other parts of being.

Many will see this as strange, but I do remind you of your own process as you clear anything that is not of your own energies to move further on your path.

Once the time is there, the portals that are needed for my ascension will be fully open and you are invited to join me in this journey at that time.

These Portals have been placed upon me, not within me as they are energetic portals that have been built for this specific purpose.

The many crystals placed within me, will be moved outside of me into our universe where you will be able to access them as you raise your own frequencies.

The Cosmic Ascension is a personal path and each and every one will have to follow this path on their own.

You can use my support for as long as you think you need it, but there will be a time where you will be standing on your own two feet, will be able to stand on your own two feet as you will be able to be within the oneness without the support of others including myself.

After my ascension there will be the support within me for those who have not completed the Cosmic ascension.

At this time the support has been made for you outside of me as well. There are grids made of crystalline energies, and are available to connect with as you are moving forward on your own path.

These grids are of the highest frequencies and will be adjusted as needed for you.

Beloveds, there are almost not enough “superlatives” to THANK all of you for the magnificent success of yesterday’s (9/23/10) mission to download 59 more crystals into the LOVE crystal network!!!

And what an amazing ride it was for all of us!!!

The task was accomplished quickly and without negative incidents of any kind. It was necessary to slightly move location or vary time in a few instances for reasons of safety for the crews of the ships. However, with only slight modifications to original plans, all went well….EXTREMELY well!

This is to be a short communication only for now. I, Ashtar, shall be sending a longer message through Mari-el a bit later for all of you. Mari-el is still feeling too “expanded” she tells me, due to the effects of yesterday’s mission, to sit indoors at a keyboard for very long in order to receive a longer message right now. So, she is planning to get outdoors for awhile to get a bit more grounded and to enjoy the beautiful day on earth at her location and she shall be back at the keyboard a bit later.

I wish to advise all of you to also get outdoors into nature for awhile today or on this weekend if you are able to do so. In this way, you will serve as conduits and radiators to Mother Earth of the magnificent LOVE Crystal energy, of which you are now all carriers. While you are “out and about,” even in public places, by Intent you may “turn up the volume” on your energy and broadcast the LOVE Crystal energy out in all directions! In this way, you will share this lovely vibration with MANY people! Have FUN with this energy. If you are observant, you will be able to see the effect this energy, through you, is having on all people around you!

Without research, I have no idea HOW old the civilizations on the Sirian Star system are, but I recall Nidle saying that they were colonised by the Humans from the evolving VEGA star system where many of us ‘originated’.

When they ‘arrived’ from Vega to Sirius they found the FELINE people already there.. and they let them share the system with some amicable agreements.

There may well be a few evolved Reptilians there too.. but I ‘think’ it is mostly Mammalian Territory by governance.

‘What Basel III Missed’

While local banks are held in check by the new banking czars in Basel, Wall Street’s “shadow banking system” has hardly been curbed by regulators at all; and it is here that the 2008 credit crisis was actually precipitated. The banking system’s credit machine is systemically flawed and needs a radical overhaul.

On September 13, the Bank for International Settlements issued heightened capital requirements that will make lending even more difficult for local banks, which do most of the consumer and small business lending today. The new rules are ostensibly designed to prevent a repeat of the 2008 credit collapse, but they fail to address its real cause, which involves a “shadow” banking system that has largely escaped regulation.

What went wrong in September 2008 was not that the existing Basel II capital requirements were too low but that banks found a way around the rules. The Basel II rules base a bank’s capital requirement on how risky its loan book is, and banks can make their books look less risky by buying unregulated “insurance contracts” known as credit default swaps (CDS). This insurance, however, proved to be a fraud, when insurer AIG went bankrupt on September 15, 2008. The credit collapse that followed has normally been blamed on the collapse of the subprime housing market. But according to Yale economist Gary Gorton (whose views were recently embraced by Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke), the subprime problem was not itself sufficient to trigger a global credit freeze. What it did trigger was an old-fashioned bank run, in the not-so-familiar market known as the shadow banking system.

Bank runs don’t generally occur in the traditional banking system anymore, because (a) depositors are now protected by FDIC insurance, and (b) banks that run out of reserves can borrow from the Federal Reserve, which is empowered to create moneyex nihilo (out of nothing). But FDIC insurance covers only $250,000 in deposits, and there is a massive and growing demand for banking by large institutional investors ­ pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds ­ which have millions of dollars to park somewhere between investments. They want an investment that is secure, that provides them with a little interest, and is liquid like a traditional deposit account, allowing quick withdrawal.

The shadow banking system evolved in response to this need, operating largely through the repo market. “Repos” are sales and repurchases of highly liquid collateral, typically Treasury debt or mortgage-backed securities. The collateral is bought by a “special purpose vehicle” (SPV), which acts as the shadow bank. The investors put their money in the SPV and keep the securities, which substitute for FDIC insurance in a traditional bank. (If the SPV fails to pay up, the investors can foreclose on the securities.) To satisfy the demand for liquidity, the repos are one-day or short-term deals, continually rolled over until the money is withdrawn. This money is used by the banks for other lending, investing or speculating. But that puts the banks in the perilous position of Jimmy Stewart in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” funding long-term loans with short-term borrowings. When the investors get spooked for some reason and all pull their money out at once, the banks can no longer make loans and credit freezes.

In September 2008, investors were spooked when the mortgage-backed securities backing their repo “deposits” proved not to be “triple A” as represented. But the next time it might be something else, and Basel III has not fixed this systemic weakness. Arguably, the weakness cannot be fixed under the current scheme of private banking and credit. As noted in an article on Seeking Alpha by The Business Insider:

“Our financial system remains vulnerable to another credit crunch, with many of the same exact features as the last. All it needs is someone to strike the match of panic.”

The question is how to eliminate this systemic risk:

“Regulate shadow banking more tightly, and you probably have to also provide government backstops. Shudder. Try to shut the thing down or restrict it and you suck credit out of the system, credit which much of the non-financial ‘real’ economy uses and needs.”

The real economy needs credit, and choking it off by over-regulating the banks will kill the real economy. Indeed, according to Gary Gorton, the shadow banking system evolved because banks were already so over-regulated that they could not turn a profit. He writes:

“Holding loans on the balance sheets of banks is not profitable. . . . This is why the parallel or shadow banking system developed. If an industry is not profitable, the owners exit the industry by not investing; they invest elsewhere. Regulators can make banks do things, like hold more capital, but they cannot prevent exit if banking is not profitable. ‘Exit’ means that the regulated banking sector shrinks, as bank equity holders refuse to invest more equity.”

Toward a Better Solution

Only a complete overhaul of the banking system can eliminate these systemic flaws, flaws that ultimately stem from a misconception about what money is. We think of it as a “thing,” something that must be dug out of the ground or borrowed from someone who already has it. Since banks don’t have enough of this thing to cover their loans and investments, they engage in a shell game in which they advance credit and scramble to cover it with short-term loans, exposing them to the systemic risk of sudden and unpredictable withdrawals.

That is the old model, but today money and credit are something else. No gold or other commodity backs our money today. Nothing backs it but “the full faith and credit of the United States.” Money and credit are creatures merely of legal agreement, a tally of accounts keeping track of who owes what to whom. Two or more parties can enter into a legal agreement without having any money at all. They can advance credit against goods or services and engage in productive trade. The tribute exacted by a private banking monopoly actually hampers this productive flow. As Thomas Jefferson complained to Treasury Secretary Gallatin in 1815:

“The treasury, lacking confidence in the country, delivered itself bound hand and foot to bold and bankrupt adventurers and bankers pretending to have money, whom it could have crushed at any moment.”

Jefferson wrote to John Eppes in 1813:

“Although we have so foolishly allowed the field of circulating medium to be filched from us by private individuals, I think we may recover it . . . . The states should be asked to transfer the right of issuing paper money to Congress, in perpetuity.”

The “full faith and credit of the United States” could and should be overseen by a branch of the United States, just as legal agreements are overseen by the judiciary. Publicly-owned banks could issue the full faith and credit of the nation without worrying about capital or reserves. After all, if you are the United States, why do you need “reserves” of your own credit?

While we’re waiting for the Calvary to swoop down from Washington and save us ­ something that could take a while ­ we might consider setting up some state-owned banks. The Bank of North Dakota, currently the country’s only state-owned bank, is very stable and very profitable, returning a 26% dividend to the state. A bank of that sort could be an attractive investment for all those state and local rainy day funds, pension funds and other local government funds looking for greater returns from the low-risk investments allowed by their legislative mandates. We need to set up some banks that serve the needs of the real economy rather than those of Wall Street bankers, brokers and their super-rich clients for yet more bonuses, bailouts and paper profits. State-owned banks could fill the role the Wall Street banks have declined to fill, providing an effective credit engine for state and local economies.

God said:

Change is the name of the game.

The sun, which is always, nevertheless, seems to move in place, and the light it shines seems to move with it. The leaf you look at now is inundated with the sun’s light! In a minute, the sunlight might be shining on the next leaf, or the leaf may seemingly become brighter or more shaded.

What is there in the relative world that is glued in place and not infernally moving? It is even said that a stone is whirling in atoms of space. We see for ourselves that immutable stone gets smoothed and eventually may be known as sand.

You do not stay in one place. Even when you are confined, you are not exactly now who you were a moment ago. Light moves and changes. Awareness moves and changes. You are a being that is ever-blossoming.

The blue of the sky is not the same blue it was a minute ago. The blue of the Nile may match particles of the sky, or it may not. In another language blue is called something else. The white of your eyes is not exactly white.

Your eyes that look now are not identical to your eyes that looked a few moments ago. Your thoughts are not the same ones. You may not remember what your thoughts were last, for now they are new. Sometimes your thoughts jump from one place to another and back again. Your thoughts are in love with themselves and turn every which way in the mirror of thought they inhabit.

Nothing is what it seems, unless you see love. Love is irrevocable even when it seems not. Neither time nor space truly exist so how could anything be marked in stone or a clock strike?

You are agile in life. For a moment shadows seem to run across the moon, and distance pursues you closely. There is nothing without your presence, that is, your interpretation of it. The same non-existent time moves faster than the speed of light and slower than a snail. What seems is not. And what doesn’t seem, is. How do you like that?

As for miracles, what is not a miracle? If what is is not and what does not seem is, what is not a miracle? Is it not miracle-seeming that you read My thoughts here after they were written down and not before? And yet My thoughts are streaming always like a beautiful mist in a glade. My thoughts are streaming even in a desert. There is nothing that cannot be called a mirage. Only I Whom am not seen cannot be called a mirage.

I am an eternal glimpse of yourself, and yet I am not seen. I am more like osmosis, or I am an intimate part of yourself that never wavers and yet is solid in its ephemeralness. Long live the ephemeral which lasts longer than a stone that becomes sand.

A game is played and is yet unseen. There are no markers of it. Ships pass in the night and know it not. The cow jumps over the moon, and the fork runs away with the spoon, and so a tale is spun, and so it is unwoven.

Welcome to upside down and rightside-up as yet undetermined. Welcome to Topsyturvyville, and welcome to you, Peter, Mopsy and Cottontail.

What does not live forever in the annals of God? And who are you not when you are all that I AM? What fraction of infinity can you be when you are All?

Heigh ho, I hear the rumble of far-off hoofbeats, and away We go.

**The loving flame that burns within you is inextinguishable**

One day at a time, or indeed one moment at a time, is the best way to live in the illusion, because it helps you to undo the hold that time has upon you. In Reality there is only “now,” this eternal moment in which Creation, God, Heaven, is always present, happening, being. Nothing passes and is gone, nothing is awaited, because all is now. This is an extremely difficult concept for you to grasp as you wander, almost blindly and very insensitively, around in the illusion.

Some of you have limited psychic abilities, which give you brief ephemeral intimations of Reality, and which demonstrate clearly to you that what you normally experience through your bodily senses is as nothing compared to what truly exists. That you have shared these insights with others who apparently do not share these skills has been most beneficial for humanity, by alerting it to the possibility that there is far more to life than the limited opportunities and experiences it presently seems to offer.

You exist now and always; you do not get born, live a short and possibly meaningless life, and afterwards go out like a light when the electricity is turned off. You are all eternal aspects of thedivine creative flow, existing beyond space and time in perfect harmony with each other and with God. This existence is permanent, unchanging, and unchangeable, and for that reason alone life can only be joyful, exhilarating, and inspiring.

Your experiences to the contrary are due only to the imaginary and illusory environment that you have built and that you maintain by your ongoing collective belief in it. You have filled it with monsters and demons, terrors and catastrophes, which you continue to develop, thus intensifying your belief in it. Fortunately, it is a chimera — a dream from which you are scheduled to awaken into God’s divine Reality, all that exists.

Deep within yourselves you know this, although you have closed off your awareness to it, and so you seek it in the illusion in the company of others, in material security, in intellectual and philosophical explorations. Or you seek to distract yourselves from the suffering that your environment causes you by dulling your senses in a wide variety of ways. But nothing works, because the loving flame that burns within you, placed there by your Father, is inextinguishable. You can cover it over, pretend it is not there, but it always reappears, insisting that you are missing something, that life is far, far more than your present very unsatisfactory circumstances would have you believe.

However depressed you become, however strong your unbelief seems to be, that state is bound to collapse, disintegrate, dissolve, and fade away because it is totally unreal, does not and cannot exist. Consequently, you will awaken into the sublime state that is your eternal Home. There is nowhere but that. The dream, the illusion, must and will evaporate, leaving you fully awake, fully alive, and in exultant happiness in the Presence of your eternally loving Father. So, REJOICE! Know that all is divinely taken care of and that you are coming Home to the most glorious of celebrations. All is eternally well. -With so very much love, Saul
