NASA spots 54 potentially life-friendly planets

The number is “enormous” and “inconceivable,” said scientists, who’ve yet to find a single such planet

An orbiting NASA telescope is finding whole new worlds of possibilities in the search for alien life, including more than 50 potential planets that appear to be in the habitable zone.

In just a year of peering out at a small slice of the galaxy, the Kepler telescope has spotted 1,235 possible planets outside our solar system. Amazingly, 54 of them are seemingly in the zone that could be hospitable to life — that is, not too hot or too cold, Kepler chief scientist William Borucki said.

Until now, only two planets outside our solar system were even thought to be in the “Goldilocks zone.” And both those discoveries are highly disputed.

Fifty-four possibilities is “an enormous amount, an inconceivable amount,” Borucki said. “It’s amazing to see this huge number because up to now, we’ve had zero.”

The more than 1,200 newfound bodies are not confirmed as planets yet, but Borucki estimates 80 percent of them will eventually be verified. At least one other astronomer believes Kepler could be 90 percent accurate.

After that, it’s another big step in proving that a confirmed planet has some of the basic conditions needed to support life, such as the proper size, composition, temperature and distance from its star. More advanced aspects of habitability such as specific atmospheric conditions and the presence of water and carbon require telescopes that aren’t built yet.

USDA has become a rogue agency in its regulation of biotech crops and its decision to appease the few companies who seek to benefit from this technology comes despite increasing evidence that GE alfalfa will threaten the rights of American farmers and consumers, as well as damage the environment.

The Center for Food Safety will be suing on this decision.

In the coming months, we will be seeing USDA proposals to allow unrestricted plantings of GE sugar beets, and GE corn and soy crops designed to resist toxic pesticides, such as 2-4D and Dicamba, highly toxic pesticides that pose a serious threat to our health and the environment. To win these critical and difficult battles, the entire organic community, and our allies in the conventional food and farming community, will have to work together.
Now is the time to unite in action. We need to work together to restore sanity to our food system, stop the deregulation of GE crops and join together against the forces that are seeking to silence hundreds of thousands of Americans.
As we move forward, we are united in opposing genetically engineered organisms in food production and believe that pressure to stop the proliferation of this contaminating technology must be focused on the White House and Congress. The companies responsible for this situation are the biotech companies whose GE technology causes genetic drift and environmental hazards that are not contained as the deregulation of genetically engineered alfalfa goes forward. The organic community stands together with consumer, farmer, environmental and business interests to ensure practices that are protective of health and the environment.

#28 scientists studying exoplanets do understand that there could e other planet types bearing life and have the mcategorized, its bassically that they are only searching for planets that could support carbon based life like us, it is not that they dont acknowledge the vast possibilities of life in the cosmos, they just want a place to start focusing and perfecting how they search and when these types of stellar search teams were being created the thoughts of searching for another planet to live on were prevalent in science AND sci fi, they will likely need to score a few carbon hits before they start scoping out other planet types plus we find critters that fit some of your criteria right here on earth all the time as well, extreme heat and cold critters and stuff, they gotta start somewhere so they chose our type of planet type first is all

sped i feel that if i do not say what i am about to say you would be missing an important part of this latest lesson we are all learning

being raised catholic i know the teachings of christ consiouness pretty damn well(even though i feel the bible is not even worth being toilet paper), jesus’ words stand out big time in the proper way to live, peacfully and forgivingly and most importantly i think, with honesty

i was not given a body for sports or battle or physical labour, i was blessed in this life with my brain, with that come both many boons and banes, and while i may never forget a slight to me or my fellow man i always am forgiving in that i will always give that other chance, i will always re-engage the conversation, i will always try again, without forgiveness how can one ever find redemption, if you follow christ teachings being honest in admitting your mistake and asking for forgivenss demands forgiveness from others because one has looked at their actions and learned the correct/better/more loving(pick one or add your own) way to deal with a situation, if others do not forgive when a person admits their error and begin to live better then there is no point the the asking or living better, because the result will be one sin = outcast forever

only through forgiving anothers actions and understanding why they did it will we learn and improve,

normally i dont say sorry, normally i dont accept apologies simply because i move on from an event onces its over, kinda like “oh you are still talking about that old argument” or whatever it may be, i forget and basically live in the moment sorta all the time

i just forgive anyways and dont worry about stuff

but i feel this is another one of those important moments i have been a part of and witnessed a few times since i came here where through a gut wrenchingly difficult “battle” so to speak between some of the members here, we all come out with a fantastic lesson learned and often once the initial angers wear off those folks get down to business fully explaining and bouncing ideas off eachother

i fully and humbly accept your apology and offer one of my own, in a way to everyone,

i dont apologise for my words or actions as i feel they are in the moment and always pure and from the heart ,

i DO apologise to everyone for sometimes being the cause of your discomfort, or presenting things in a way that may make you uncomfortable,

my own “get over it’ attitude does not apply to you all as well, and i forget that others dont take things as , well i wont say lighty cause im always pretty serious about stuff, but i dont take it to heart at the end of the day

you are my friends here, you are the ones i can talk to about this stuff, most people i know, like for most of you, just dont get it, so coming here to shoot the shit with yas is enjoyable and important for me

i dont want people mad at me but i also gotta say what i feel when i feel it,

for example i cheated on a girl i dated a while ago alot, when i broke up with her months later i went back apologised told her everything, and at first she didnt say much, but a couple months later she gave me the forgiveness i asked from her and it made that event “end” sorta

so even though you are good anyways and dont need the ackowledgement ( typing this word again i dont like its meaning for this but i hope you understand anyway) and even though i would forgive whatever ya did anyway, the EXCHANGE is important, without ackowledging (there is that word again ) eachother it is keeping our soul journeys apart from learning the lesson

Good morning everyone. We had another day off yesterday. We had ice storms and most people could not even walk anywhere for most of the morning. Luckily we didnot have a power outage. The trees look like crystal trees and the site is awesome, especially when the sun shines on them.

I go down the basement yesterday to do a load of wach. Now when you go down the stairs there is this old door half on top is glass planes and the bottom is wood. Well the whole door was ripped in half. It looked like the Hulk came through and just ripped this door in half. I dont mean from the hinges, the whole door is in 2 pieces with a third of it still on the hinges. I could not believe it. Even if Homeless Rich fell into it he could not have damaged it in this was. Then I get a scare as someone else comes out of the basement looking like he just woke up. It was paranoid Bob but he didnot know what happened to the door. I didnot tell Dana about it because I was afraid she might put her foot down and kick out homeless rich. Man not in this weather. I didnot talk to Whitey yet but I am sure he has seen it. 2/3 of the door is thrown on the side and the glass was not even picked up. The plot thickens. gotta check some e-mails and get back here as I forgot to tell you all Ashley got jumped over the weekend.Back later

Also is there anything to do in texas? The radio guys kept complaining (but remember new yorkers love to complain and think their city is the best in the world, very arrogant attitudes) but they said there is absolutely nothing to do in Dallas. I find that hard to believe but just asking. I know I would find some fun things to do out there. If fun dont come to you , you gotta go to fun.

I think I am in the process of finding a balance between OBSERVING emotions from a Triality perspective and SENSING the ‘incoming’ UNITY between us all anyway!

This, so far, leaves me feeling slightly ‘squirmy’ at the ‘missing’ out-pourings, at the same time as feeling rather joyous at our ability to know that we are all ONE!

The latter completely negates the necessity of the former!

Is it like missing your Space Family//Star of Origin and yet knowing that there is little you can do to actually get back there until they come to you first?

Thank you! I know the network of Light is growing. I have several people physically in my life now that I join with to do the same thing you are doing. I had the privilege of watching “Easy Rider” last night ( I KNOW!!!! ) and was blown away by an exact description of what is to come that is precisely what we have been told is to come. The word was out in ’69… (probably before that too)

The events in Egypt are beyond breathtaking, that a people so long oppressed have by themselves risen up to cast off their oppressors. Surging through the streets in uncountable thousands, burning police stations to the ground, convincing army troops of their commonality, spontaneously organizing themselves to protect property, direct traffic, and deal with emergencies, smoking out Mubarak’s attempt to capitalize on the inevitable looting and violence, they are revealing to the world a new national template: self-organization. A template we know operates in biology and ecology but have never before seen realized on such a scale among human beings.

Because above all, beyond struggling to get rid of Mubarak and free themselves from their addiction to American money and armaments, the Egyptian people have glimpsed the possilbility that they can do all this without falling back on traditional political parties. Even as an idea, even as an ideal, this is the most extraordinary aspect of what is taking place. A movement born out of youth and led by youth, without recourse to professional leaders, the Egyptian revolution presents us with the possibility of living in an entirely new way, of circumventing a 6000-year-old model in which “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

ElBaradei, the Muslim Brotherhood, the oligarchy, Army generals, splinter parties: the Egyptian people are getting the extraordinary notion that they can survive perfectly well without them.

Talk about a mythic moment, not only for Egyptians but for the rest of us. Whether or not such an outpouring of virginal, never-before-seen energy lasts, whether or not an enduring way is found to escape the age-old hieracrchy of business as usual, with people free to organize their lives completely “outside the Beltway,” for the first time such a possibility has been burned into our consciousness on a national scale, related to but beyond the self-organizing experiments of intentional communities. As such, what’s going on in Egypt is unprecedented.

No wonder dictatorial regimes in Yemen, Algeria, Libya, the Sudan, Saudi Arabia, China, Russia and elsewhere are doing their best to distort and suppress what’s taking place there. No wonder calls for incremental change from the “comfort food” leadership in Europe and the United States are falling on deaf ears. As one banner in Tahrir Square read: “A revolution of the people, not the parties.”

What’s happening in Egypt has sometimes been labeled “al-Jazeera’s revolution” because of that channel’s decisive presentation of images of revolt while the rest of world media hung back. Day after day, viewers throughout the Arab lands mirrored the demonstrators in Cairo and came away with the sense that they, too, might take to the streets to accomplish their goals. But not only Arab viewers: new memes are being downloaded into the psyches of people everywhere, alchemically transforming pessimism and despair into “anything is possible.” Into “if they can do it, why not us?”

Such transparency is also, of course, what constitutes the threat of Wikileaks (and other such sites) to the established order. No secrets—what a concept, beside which pale any number of well-intentioned Freedom of Information Acts. No secrets—not tomorrow or next year, not dependent on lawyers filing briefs or on political pressure, but today, now. For all to see.

And one more thing: it’s not surprising that, filled with emotion, the demonstrators wrap themselves in the national flag. Oh, the flag, the flag! In Tunisia and Egypt and every other country, this piece of cloth held up as a symbol of national identity, conflating who we are with an abstraction for which we must be prepared to lay down our lives. But sooner or later this too will fall by the wayside.

Sooner or later, without feeling in danger of losing our national identities, customs, and languages, we will understand that our allegiance belongs to something larger than those symbols which separate us, symbols co-opted by warring nation-states for perpetuation of the status quo. Sooner or later, without the paranoid fantasy of one world government, a new flag—the image of a luminous globe floating in black space—will be raised over the planet. And we will perhaps begin, at long last and as best we can, to organize our lives around our common humanity.

We ‘feel’ ALL our emotions whether they be of Love or anger (supressed sadness usually!).

My point to Steffie was that we can also OBSERVE these emotions without allowing them to ‘rule our lives’ as such! And then act accordingly in Wisdom, Compassion and Imapartiality.

‘Missing’ holds us in the past. In true ‘NOW’ there is never anything missing!

Happy TGIF to everyone. Superbowl sunday coming. Once the Jets were out of it, I kind of lost interest.
For those from other countries, the superbowl is like a national holiday here. Even people who never watch sports do watch the superbowl. Family and friends gather together with much food and liquor as there are major big parties. Also, superbowl monday is the number one day in America for people to call in sick for work. I dont know what I will do maybe take it easy for once and just watch the game at home. The problem is Whitey and dana are throwing a big party right upstairs from me so even if I wanted to relax, that will never happen. Oh well I will go with the flow.
Got home last night and something was up. My screen doors handle is broken so i gotta put a char in front of it to keep it closed. I come home and the chair is moved. OK, no lights on. So I go inside and the first thing I noticed is my table is cleaned. Ha ha, Ashley and Samantha must be here and they will try to scare me. I know they are in the kitchen so I go in there slowly and scream ahhhhhhhhhhhh
They both f-ing jumped. turned it around big time on them, it was so funnyl. They were like how did you know and I am like Mc Fly, the chair and then the table were dead give aways. Then we all relaxed with Mary and watched American Idol.Nice night it was. Gotta do some e-mails see ya later.

#166 I was actually surprise to read about these energy days and especially feb 4 today. I was feeling irritable since I woke up this morning and I also did feel like lashing out at people. I will now take that advice and chill out and avoid any confrontations. Although, for the last hour I have been connecting with spirit and I do feel a whole lot better now.

Change occurs continuously and moment to moment. Emotionally, physically, mentally you are feeling challenged. When you see events unfolding, do not hesitate to take part. Your actions have changed the reality of earth and continue to do so. By voicing your opinion or by taking an action that you are directed to, you are meeting those challenges! There is nothing to lose yet there is much to gain. Your self assuredness will grow. Unity on a larger scale will be the outcome. Simply put, it is imperative that you express in these times, especially when your seemingly downtrodden and browbeaten brothers and sisters require a balance of loving energies. Share your energies with them.
The energies of opportunity abound at this time. This energy is designed and directed toward your individuality. What this means is that the time to step into your mastery is now. Now is the time to celebrate your sovereignty. Your energy carries an aspect of the ascension process as a whole. The group of like minded beings that you are with is no coincidence, no accident. It is very specific and intentional; designed to bring you together.
Your group has been created through the synergy of your intention. You are individuals, yet you are so much more than that. You have much in common; more than you might think. The intention of Amiable Contacts is an impressive one and one that links you together. You have had a similar experience in times past, one that unified you and created important change.

You are in for a special treat in this project. You will be propelled into personal empowerment of a higher frequency and you will perform your mission without hesitation and with joy. Enthusiasm will radiate from your cells. Our enthusiasm for our group project began as soon as we became aware of Amiable Contact. We would not miss it for anything!
Do not hesitate to dream about it; to imagine how it will be for you. You will take command of your work. You will present yourself unabashedly and gracefully. It will come to you with ease and it will be spectacular. We will be delighted to witness your transformation. We will be pleased to act as your guides and to walk arm in arm.
There will come the time when Amiable Contacts will gather together, if this is what you wish. Focus on how this celebration might occur.
We will reach new heights of mastery. We will express without hesitation our knowledge, our wisdom and with humility. As you know, with pure intent, all things are possible.
The importance of acting as liason between planetary civilizations and humankind speaks volumes. And you will be busy; the kind of busy that is joyful and full of meaning, for to change one’s reality and the reality of an entire civilization is a magnificent accomplishment.

When Amiable Contact occurs, it will be time for celebration amongst all. However, you do not have to wait till then. Celebrate away! Feel your joy and anticipation around the Amiable Contact project! We love your celebratory vibrations and we celebrate with you! When in that frequency of enthusiasm, you are so much nearer to your wholeness and your divinity. And nearer to us!
At this stage, you must surely recognize the fact that you are capable of accomplishing anything. See this from a fifth dimensional perspective and see how it makes you feel. Reaching that perspective and vibration is reason enough to celebrate. As you are integrating your higher perspective, light a candle in acknowledgement of the project. See yourself and your Amiable group together, partaking of one another’s celebratory vibrations. Ah, the synergy created will be something! We find this part of Amiable Contact so delightful, so blissful!
As you evolve from the actual event of the Amiable Contact experience, you shall become anew and will function in a fifth dimensional way; truly it will be a new way.
You will be tapping into your higher wisdom and intelligence, therefore our working together will always be something to look forward to as an Amiable Contact. Being in one another’s presence will be an extraordinarily pleasant experience. We will learn and we will grow while we incorporate new ideas based on decisions that we make together. We treat one another as equals and with great respect. We are excited for you to learn everything about us.
We will convene regularly, as we do now. However, you will be consciously aware of every single occurrence. Although we meet in the higher dimension regularly now, you do not retain memory of it during your waking hours. When you feel the urge to rest or to just be still, know that your presence is required in the 5th dimension. An amazing Unity of the Amiable Contact project occurs when we meet in the 5th dimension. Members of the Amiable Contact project work together here as a group and the synergy created is fantastic!
Serving in the 5th dimension in this way is part of your service. We convene regularly to discuss the Amiable Contact project, as well as other matters ongoing on Earth. This not only serves your greater good, but the greater good of all.
Serving the greater good of all is how we base our existence. The opportunity to learn and to grow is boundless. And full of promise and wonder.
The Amiable Contact project serves the greater good of all. If you would like to imagine new ideas for yourself or as a group, go into meditation, request information on how to celebrate, on how to learn and grow, or ask how your guides see the different aspects that interest you being carried out. How might you work together here and now while still in this reality? How do you spread your wings and reach the highest, grandest and most loving possibilities with regard to Amiable Contact? Or with regard to unfolding events that have a global effect?
Look at how far you have come as the fore runners – and now, go further, reach higher. Imagine yourself taking another leap. And take it! And know that this energy of your intention and the energy that you put out there affects all living beings. Now there is an accomplishment in itself, no matter how small it may seem to you!
Our experience together in Amiable Contact is a beginning. What awaits is an opportunity to experience a way of being that is full of the promise of our Creator.
